Description: |
A pioneering concept with the functions of a clinic combined with a community resource, where the objective is to raise awareness through educational outreach programs and to dispense medication and give emergency care.
Located in an open field, independent structures have been strung along a curved walkway. This arrangement references a new focal neighbourhood street, with associated public interactions and casual atmosphere, and provides for easy future extension of facilities. The carefully orientated structures are of an unintimidating scale and use materials and colours common in the densely populated surrounding rural area.
Not intended as a full medical clinic, facilities are focused on general consulting. Overnight stay beds and washrooms, available for emergency cases are provided in small wards. A large auditorium, which doubles as a Community Hall, provides a platform for public education and awareness programs.
