A new International Convention Centre, integral with a hotel and wildlife reserve on a prominent corner site in close proximity to the city of Polokwane, Limpopo Province.
Extensive market research defined the business model for the planning and design of public and back-of-house facilities. The facility can accommodate up to 1200 delegates over a short duration and can be extended further to larger meetings of 2500-3000 delegates.
The building has an imposing scale characterised by dramatic roof forms shielding the steel and glass facades from the robust African climate. Natural rock outcrops, indigenous trees and dry stack rock walls are integral with triple volumes of clear glass, contrasting the African experience through materials, textures, colours and form.
The architecture reflects not only the business of the International Meetings Industry but also the heart and soul of a proud region.
